  How do I export AI file to lines for cad.

  I want to get outlined text into autocad for for special metal cutting. I’ve tried in Illustrator but i just get filled text. Does any know how this can be done so that i get just lines and curves.

  Are you converting the text to outlines first? It’s under the type menu, or shift-command-O.
