  outline picture from PS to AI

  Hi there,

  I have a BW picture that I was able to create an outline from using the glowing edge filter. I’m able to select the outline and paste it into a new layer. Now I’d like to tweak with this outline in AI.

  I tried exporting paths from the PS menu but all that I get is a white canvas….

  How can I open this outline on Illustrator and as a vector shape?

  Thanks!

  P.S. I’m working on CS. So I don’t have the auto-trace feature available on CS 2.

  Your outline is still raster info. To make it vector you’re going to have to re-draw it using the pen tool. Be sure to create a new path in the paths menu. Then go under the file pulldown to export>Adobe Illustrator.
