Work flow that gets Professional Print Results….
I’m looking for work flow that gets Professional Print Results….
I’m grappling with workflow now and have been for some time.I get CMYK color
I have been doing a lot of Web Design Logos and Graphics using Fireworks.
However, now I’m getting more and more work for Professional Print Graphics.
These web graphics look very bad……. Pixilated, Choppy and Not “crisp and cleared”.While Eyecandy Filters and the many other tricks that I have been using are great for web Graphics.I’m a bit lost in the parallel to Vector and Professional Graphics for Print Results.
So here are some questions that I have.
1, Should I only be focusing on Vector “Illustrator” proficiency?
Learning how to create equivalent effects in vector?2, Are there any good Vector shape or Vector Text Filters, or does everything need to take 100 steps?
Vector feels like an old dog that not want to move……..
Nothing with Vector Text is a fast, click on a Filter and your half way there as it is with fireworks or Photoshop.3, Should I focus on Vector art then move post work to Photoshop to add filters and paint there?
Does this not covert Vector to Pixel “Bitmap”, which destroys the true quality of Vector Text and Art.
If so How could I minimize this degradation.Pro or not a Pro… I would like to here how you get your best resolution and results with these tools. What works for you….

Ummm pick up a magazsine.. does it look like Vectors are all they used?
I would start with Taz Tally’s book on scanning and learn how dpi and resolution impact quality
