  drawing tablet problem

  I am using an Aiptek drawing tablet within illustrator cs2 trial edition and I get no pressure reading. The option for basing brush radius on pen pressure is greyed out when I create a new brush. In photoshop the pen pressure works fine. Maybe this is a problem with the fact that it is a trial version of illustrator because I have used this tablet with no problems in cs1?
  Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.
