  Liquidify over time?

  Hey,

  So I’m trying to animate a still photo, I want to create an effect where certain parts of the image are being pulled one direction. It’s basically a series of rings with ropes looping through them, I want to animate the rope to make it appear as though it’s moving (on some kind of loop). My thought was liquidify could create the type of effect I’m trying to achieve. Could I just mask out the ropes, liquidify + transform that effect over time, and layer with varying opacities of the area around the mask to make it all look clean?
