  • Workflow for lowering exposure on windows?

Posted by Jim Galer on October 31, 2018 at 12:00 am

I do some low-end real estate photography (HDR) 5 exposures and sometimes I want to use one of the lower exposures to show the outside of an overexposed window.

I use lightroom to merge them and I notice lightroom has a radial tool that will let me raise/lower exposure but not a “pen tool” or some kind of rectangular mask that I can use to do this.

I end up having to merge the picture in light room, expor tit, then bring it into photoshop and and put a lower exposure on top of it and then mask out the window that way.

Is there a better / easier way to do this? Ideally all in lightroom or all in one program to where I don’t have to do this everytime? Thanks
