  Accidentally saved over a file

  Saved over a file I was working on and quit out of the app. Is there an autosave file system in PS?

  No, there is no autosave in PS.

  No guarantees, but try some file recovery software (I like Recuva). Maybe PS did a write before delete file creation (most do).
