Particles react in accordance with audio? Adobe After Effects CS6
I was wondering if there is a way to make particles speed up, or react in any way to an audio file, similar to the way done in this video I’ve already tried converting the audio to keyframes, and adding a linear expression- linear(value,1,66,40,0), and having that affect the velocity and/or resistance of the particles, but I’m not getting the same results. Any help will be extremely appreciated 🙂

I would do this creating a constant flow of particles, precomping that layer, enabling Time Remap and then applying keyframes as the beat progresses. The first keyframe should be where the beat starts, then the second is applied at 4 or 5 times the distance from where the beat ends (based on the waveform). Bring the second keyframe where the beat ends and you have that change of speed from the reference clip. It will be a bit tedious to do this by hand for all drum hits but you’ll get the desired effect.

EDIT: I tried your idea, and it worked, but didn’t give the same results as the example video. I’ll keep playing around with some stuff, but do you have any other ideas?

I kinda figured it out. I ended up using Trapcode Sound Keys, and writing a “Pulse” and “Shake” expression.
Shake Expression:

It is also possible to make it with Trapcode Particular … create your particle with your favorite settings and set a expression for “Physics Time Factor”
