  How to intergrate pictures onto a text layer

  Hi,

  I’m trying to intergrate a picture of a dollar bill into text that reads ‘$20,000.’ How can achieve this look without coping a pattern and spraying it onto the rasterized text? There has to be an easier way.

  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

  There’s many ways to do this, via a selection or matte, but the easiest way is to create a clipping mask:

  1. Put your dollar bill layer directly above the text layer.
  2. In the Layers palette, hold down the ALT key on Windows or Option on Mac, and put the cursor on the dividing line between the layers. The cursor should change to a double circle with a triangle pointing left.
  3. Click, and presto! The bottom layer becomes a clipping mask for the top layer, meaning the shape of the bottom layer will be used on the content on the top layer.
