I am using Photoshop to edit some video frames.

I have enabled shortcuts so that arrow keys will move to the next frame of the video. However the selected layer will not change – so that if I go to draw on the new frame it will draw on the wrong layer (a different frame).

Is there any way to ensure that the frame visible in Photoshop is also the one selected so that I can easily edit the frame without working out which layer I need to select?

There are shortcuts for selecting next layer up or down, or top or bottom layer. If you have individual frames comprised of inconsistent number of multiple layers, I don’t know how you would handle that other than changing it so that there is always the same number of layers to move up or down when you go to the next frame. Then you should be able to record an action to go forward one frame and up X layers.
