    Hey there,
    I came across this once when I was taking a PSD file to web. The designer had grouped the layers in such a way that we had the page as you would see it upon first entering, then by clicking on something in the layer panel you would see what the site would look like after clicking “expand” for example. What is this called and how is it accomplished?

    I think you mean Layer Comps.
    You can also do this with layer groups. Or even Snapshots in History!
