all my colors are a bit messed up on documents that i thought all had the same color in them. in the 2 files here according to the color picker they are the same color. and if i copy one and paste it into the other they are the same. but they are not at all the same. if i take a screen grab of them they are very different. its the same monitor profile and color space and bit rates. any ideas?
    thanks!

According to my Photoshop, color1.jpg uses the Adobe RGB 1998 color space, but color2 doesn’t have a color space assigned. I went to Edit >> Assign Profile and chose Adobe 1998. Now they both match. Color space makes a huge difference in the final appearance – I generally use Adobe 1998 where appropriate as I find sRGB to be pretty poor.

I’ve done it several times. Whenever you do a File >> Save As, you have the option of including the color profile or not. I will deselect this anytime I create images for the web (most browsers ignore color profiles anyway so its wasted data) and I usually forget to reselect it later. 😉

    Glad it worked. 🙂
