  how two photos as layers…?

  I double processed one raw photo, and then opened into PS CS2.

  Both files are in the PS workspace. I try to snap them together for each to become a layer, by holding down SHIFT key while dragging (using Move cursor) one photo onto the other.

  But, nothing is happening — there is no snapping together or blending or anything.
  When I click on either photo, that photo merely becomes the background layer.
  I had freshly re-installed Windows XP Home SP3 and followed all conventional settings –no custom. And then I conventionally installed Adobe CS2 Premium (student edition), upgrades installed. Everything worked fine before my re-installations.

  What settings or things can be done for two pics in the PS workspace to snap together into layers?

  Look at Auto Align command… in CS4 you also have Auto Blend

  Try dragging from the layers “box” (mine is on the lower right corner of the workspace). If all else fails, you can always copy and paste.
