Will adding metadata degrade the image?
I’m getting ready to add metadata to hundreds of jpg images via Bridge. Is there any cause for concern for image degradation to the already compressed files? I suspect that when metadata is written, it only affects the header data of the file, but not the actual image data. Is that right?
Secondly, I’m on a PC and the JPG files were created, and are on a network that’s MAC based. Will my metadata edits “break” the resource fork information for them? In other words, will they still be able to see the JPG files as actual thumbnails, or will the files only display generic icons?
Thanks in advance.
Dave
