March 11, 2008 at 6:11 pmFloat a copy of your layer
Gaussian Blur the layer copy it a strong amount
Set the layer blending mode to soft light
Create a layer mask and paint out areas you do not want smooththe soft light will give you that glowing sheen and rich color, you can adjust the layers opacity if 100% is to strong.

March 15, 2008 at 7:19 pmIn the layers palette click on the icon with the dotted circle at the bottom of the layer palette. This adds a layer mask to your selected layer. Then paint with black to remove unwanted times or white to bring it back. Use a soft brush and alternate brush hardness as needed.

March 19, 2008 at 12:36 amI was looking for this info. Is this how they do it on all the magazine covers? I am looking for a tutorial that has that same effect.
