  Need help creating this effect…

  Hi, I am trying to create a couple of effects similar to the linked image below…

  1st-I am trying to recreate the brush grunge metal look that the text has. I have tried several grunge textures but the result isnt similar.

  2nd-I am also trying to figure out how to get the lighting/ lens flares that are in the back of the guy. I want the flares on their own seperate layer, but they cannot be added to a blank layer.

  Any suggestions/ techniques would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

  I looks like DJ Strong is a layer of text that has a pattern overlaid. It comes out from the center to the edges of the text. Create your own texture, grab it as a pattern and overlay it on your text.

  The light effects look like 3 airbrush dots with a angled brush filter added and then blended with the T-shirt from behind.

  Experimenting is fun!
