  flatbed scanner rec

  I have an old HP 3c, which is starting to act a little strange — there is a delay before each scan (unless I’m doing them one after the other, very rapidly), with a message like “Warming up the lamp.”

  And, I have a massive scanning project, which is taking way too long.

  So I’m suspecting that the trusty old 3c may need a new lamp, &/or need replacing, so I’d like to know whether (1) the lamp can be replaced) and (2) new scanners are any faster than this one.
