What constitutes high resolution for 2′ x 3′ poster
I am making a poster (3′ x 2′) for a company. I am not sure what printing process they are planning to use. There will be over 5,000 posters printed. What resolution should I create the document?

Generally 300DPI(ppi) is ‘hi-res’ for print. 7200x10800px for a 2’x3′.

Rule of thumb is: keep the resolution between 1.5-2 times the screen frequency that it will be printed in.
Ask the printer what screen ruling they will print in.
For example: if the printer is printing it with 150 linescreen, the resolution should be between 225 and 300 dpi,
if the printer is printing at 200 linescreen, the resolution should be between 300-400dpi.
This applies to offset printing; screenprinting and digital presses have different requirements.

Good thing I asked. I had always figured if the printing resolution was 200 dpi, then I would make my original at 200 ppi.
