  How to Shoot or Create video of rotating crystal ‘award’

  Hello there,

  I have a award statue that I need to shoot. It needs to be rotating. I have found the rotating device, but I would like to know if there is a better way to film it or if I should try recreating the award in AE.

  The issue is the award is clear, crystal looking. It has text on one side that needs to be read.

  I’ve been racking my brain and searching online….maybe I recreate the object in AE somehow?

  Put it on a turntable, perfect the lighting and rotate it. To do it all on the computer, I think you would want to create it in C4D, & composite it in AE, but IMO that’s a ton more work than just shooting it.

  Thanks John. I left out a key piece of information…after it is shot, I need to key it over a motion background. What happened last time I did this is the ‘shape’ of the award would be hard to see, and the text was very hard to read. I shot it against black last time, so trying to key that out, etc…I think I ended up using Ultrakey in Premiere.

  So, looking for other options that may yield better results.
