I am having trouble running filters in Photoshop CS2 they seem to perform very slow.
Also a couple of times while using a Smudge tool preset the screen just froze up and I had to close down and re-boot.
    My specs are:
    Athlon XP 2200 processor
    Asus A7V333 main board
    1025mb RAm
Asus Video card 128mb using nVidia Geforce Ti4200
    2 120gb drives in a Raid array.
I have a feeling my video card is causing this problem and I would like any suggestions on this, and if so recommendations on which card to use.
    Thanks for any help.

The smudge tool is known to be a tool with very slow performance. How many pixels does your file have, and do you have slow performance with any other items or just the smudge tool.

The smudge tool causes photoshop to freeze up.
The Blur filter cause it to slow down.
The image I am using is
    9.27m pixel dimensions
    Width 1800
    Height 1800
    Resolution 144
