  Alpha Channel for each color???

  This one stumped this video person… Was told by someone creating a program for an event that if they were to receive a Photoshop file, that each Pantone color would need it’s own Alpha Channel. They were using Quark.
  My question is… Is there an easy way to do this? Or would I need to put each color on a separate layer, make each alpha channel, and lable the alpha channel with the Pantone color?

  The way I’ve dealt with this in the past is to create the art by replacing a pantone with 100% of a process color. For instance, Pantone 280 would be 100% cyan. Pantone 185 would be 100% magenta. I would build the quark doc the same way.

  Then, make sure to give your printer very specific instructions about which color is being imaged and which color is being printed.

  This is only ideal depending on the artwork your seperating, but I’ve create some very cool duotones this way.
