I am trying to match the color of a prosthetic (elf) ear to my models natural ear color. I have tried various things to match the color, all proved unsuccessful. In my most successful of the failure, I created a section of the color I want to alter, I then created a layer upon which I poured the desired color into the selection. I lowered the opacity and changed the blending option to overlay. While at least in this attempt I could see the underlying features of the ear but the color was not matched as desired.

Please provide me with suggestions to resolve this matter. Thanks.

Change the layer blending mode from normal to color for the.

You can also try using the colro replacement tool in CS by filling your foreground color with the color you desire and brushing over the image you want the colro to match.

Also remember ..the human skin is more that one shade of color tone you will most likely need to change your opacity in some areas as well as hue.
