Okay, finally got a basic 3D tool in CS, which is nice. I’ve already found the need for it a couple of times on some straightforward illustrations. One thing I can’t do is ‘fix’ the effect.

Say I create a simple cube. If I have the effect on shaded I will see 3 shaded sides but I cannot get individual access to them. What I am looking for is an ‘expand’ function like you would find on Envelope Distort. You make your shape then you ‘expand’ the final appearance to produce individual items that make the 3D effect.

Anyone know how this can be done using this 3D effect? I have tried saving out as another format & opening it back up but it still recognises it as an editable effect in the Appearance window. Or am I missing something obvious?
