  Is there a way of hiding layers so that a layer above them will not affect them?

  Hi there

  Basically I have an image with about 15 layers in and about 5 of them are black line drawing layers. I need to change the colour of the black line drawings to a dark purple and was going to do this by making a shape layer above the drawings, setting it to screen and then change the colour accordingly. However I only want the colour to affect the black line layers and not the other colours in the image. The layers need to be in a certain order otherwise the image wont look right so I cant just put all the black line drawings together. Can anyone recommend anything for doing this?

  Hi,

  Would the following help?

  1)Creating a duplicate of you drawing layer
  2) Ctrl click the layer in the layer palette
  3) Fill the selection with your color
  4) Hide the initial layer

  Or

  1) Create a layer style on the drawing layer.
  2)Check the color overlay box
  3)Set the blend mode to screen while in the color overlay menu
  4)Click on the blending options custom at the top just below the word styles
  5)Check the box that says blend interior effects as a group

  Oh, by the way pick the color you want while in the color overlay menu
