  Funny alert

  Stupid me. I tried to paste a layer from one project into another without first importing the graphic contained in that layer. This popped up.

  

  Never let it be said that the programmers at Adobe don’t have a sense of humor.

  That’s the general error message for any situation that the application shouldn’t get into. We try to show more useful error messages when possible, but this one is basically saying “I have no idea how you got us into this situation; I just know that something strange is going on that I never expected to happen.”
