I’m trying to create a series of bubbles that float around a computer. Each bubble has a dancer inside it – she’s wearing the bubble like a bubble dancer. I’ve been using Boris sphere to make the bubble. Boris doesn’t have any function to make the bubble burst or to animate it with bubble-like gravity. Delerium lets you do both but you can’t isolate a single bubble, scale it and animate it. Is there anything that could do this in AE? Do I need to motion track a Delerium bubble to my Boris bubble and live with making it vanish instead of bursting or go to a 3D program?
    Thanks

Foam should do this quite nicely. You can have the dancer look like she’s in the bubble if you use her as a custom bubble. Once you set up the built-in bubble to your liking, save the settings for foam and paste it into a solid. The only change you need to make is to set the custom bubble parameter to point to the dancer. Of course it’s important that your dancer doesn’t make too many lateral movements.

    Yep! as Roland said.

Here is an old example that may help:

To get the bubble to burst watch how a real bubble bursts.
It basically just disappears and a few little speckles go falling down.
Simply make your bubble disappear and use some particle program to represent the tiny bits of foam. (Trapcode’s Particular and Wondertouch’s ParticleIllusion are both excellent for different reasons; go buy them both right now)

I’m unclear about where to find the custom bubble in foam – can you tell me where to look for this?
    Thanks

-Rendering>Bubble Texture. Change to “User Defined”.
-Rendering> Bubble Texture Layer. Chose your layer.

I realize this is an old post, so I’m hoping I can still get a response from someone. I am attempting to use the foam effect, but when I go to change the bubble texture, it does not change. It stays the same blue outline. Do any of you know what I could be doing wrong? TIA
