    Hi all,

I’m looking to upgrade my Mac laptop so I can use AE CS6 and work with 4K footage.

Here are the specs for the Mac Pro I’m currently considering, do you think this’ll give me enough memory to edit without lagging? If not do you have an other Apple lap top ideas?

2.8GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 4.0GHz
    16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
    1TB PCIe-based Flash Storage
Intel Iris Pro Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M with 2GB of GDDR5 memory

Thank you very much for your time and support.

    Best regards,
    Kevin

As laptops go, that does rather well on the items that matter most for After Effects: CPU, RAM, and SSD.

The GPU (which matters little for After Effects) is also pretty good for a laptop.

Todd is correct that for a laptop, this model is well balanced for AE work, however AE is not a real-time editor, depending on the type of projects you do there will likely be some ‘lag” due to the inherent nature of rendering for previews.
