R3D files in After Effect – Color Space Question
Hi all,
I am doing a color correction for one shot in After Effects and because it is pretty dark I wanted to use the raw R3D file to get as much detail as possible. Here are the specs –RED Scarlet
4K 4096×2160
LOG C
23.976I’m working in After Effects CC 2014 (most recent update) on a Mac.
When I bring the file into AE it’s VERY dark so I’m assuming there’s an issue with the color management. When I went into the Project settings for color management I did not see the correct option for LOG C. When I checked out many of the options they still were way too dark.
Am I wrong in using the Raw file? Should I convert it to ProRes? If so, how should I do this?
Thanks a lot for any help and please let me know if you need more info!
