Google Earth
Posted by Joanne Cassaro on October 13, 2005 at 3:10 pmNeed a way to capture Google Earth location zoom in an animation. Does anyone know how to use it when it’s not supported by Macs…yet? Of course my director would like to use it for a show tonight! Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks,

October 13, 2005 at 4:25 pmGogle Earth has a pro version that has a movie maker module but it costs something like $200 bucks
free for 7 days
https://earth.google.com/earth_pro.htmlThere is also another very similar free product from NASA called World Wind.
It doesn’t have a movie making module but you can do full screen and use Windows Media Encoder or another screen capture utilty to cappture the motion – this can be a little choppy depending on your graphics card.https://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/

October 14, 2005 at 1:26 pmI would guess that if you buy the pro licence, it covers broadcast use.
A quote from Google Earth’s website:
Google Earth received national attention during the Iraq war when CNN and other broadcast media utilized Google Earth solutions to show satellite imagery of Baghdad on air. Today Google Earth is in use by broadcast and print media across the US and the world, from CNN to the New York Times.Graham

October 15, 2005 at 2:29 pmI have my IT Dept. researching this. I believe you have to purchase Google Earth Pro for about $400 and then buy a $200 movie making module. It makes .wmv s. I am not quite sure how to convert the file that can be imported into AE.
