  animating a position not working as it should for me

  I have a text layer that positions in to the center (from the right). I want it to move slightly more to the left. However, when I keyframe it moving slightly to the left, in preview it animates a little to the right before going left. I’m not sure why it’s doing that.

  Help would be appreciated.

  This is called “the boomerang effect.”

  You can solve it by using hold keyframes, or by using spatial interpolation. Right-click the troubled keyframes, then choose “Toggle hold keyframe” or choose “Keyframe Interpolation” and change the spatial interpolation from Bezier to Linear.
