    Hi aLL,

    I want to do an expression for a text that Looks Like the Letters are aLL fLoating on water. They need to have random wiggLe per character in the Y-axis onLy. How can I achieve that?

    Thanks!

    Try this: Add a position Animator to the text and set the y position value to the negative number that represents the maximum amount that you want the letters to move upwards. Add an expression Selector and apply this expression to its Amount property:

    freq = 1;
    seedRandom(textIndex,true);
    50 + wiggle(freq,50)-value;

    Set the freq value to how fast you want the wiggles to occur (wiggles per second).

    Thanks Dan.

    I just used this expression to make a “scribbly” hand written type, but I added a rotation animator and it worked like a charm!

    But can you explain why you set the 50s in the third line of the expression for future reference?

    Thanks again

    I think that was an attempt to keep the text in the range defined by the original base line and the maximum upward y amount, but I think I got it wrong–it should have been like this:

    freq = 1;

    seedRandom(textIndex,true);

    [0,50] + wiggle(freq,50)-value;
