Doubling Frame Rate with Interlaced Video
I understand that when Ae is given interlaced video, it separates the fields into complete frames (must fill them in somehow) to support motion graphics, compositing, etc. Then, upon render the frames are sliced up and re-interlaced again. What I’d like to do is to instead render them out so that each field is saved as a frame. This would have the effect of doubling the original frame rate. I am willing to suffer the loss of resolution and/or whatever – for my project this will not be a problem. Can anyone tell me how to set up the render to achieve this? BTW, my preferred output format is a PNG sequence – 60 images for every second for 30 fps interlaced video. Thank you. Dale

if you interpret 30fps as interlaced upper or lower field, drop it into a 60 fps comp. If you page through, it should create distinct moving images on each frame. Render out 60 fps no fields. You will lose 50% resolution.
