• Adobe After Effects Expressions

  Reference Bottom Layer

  I just know the basics of expression, so maybe this is a simple question.

  I know how to reference another layer using something like this:

  thisComp.layer(“Red Solid 5”)

  But what I want to do is reference the bottom layer of a comp no matter how many layer are in the comp or what they are called.

  Any suggestions?

  I am not 100% sure if thisComp.numLayers works with expressions and can’t test it right now, but my guess would be:
  thisComp.layer(thisComp.numLayers)
