  • Reference Shape Layer Path after Wiggle Paths

I know how to reference a shape layer’s path with expressions, but is it possible reference the path after it has been affected by wiggle paths or any of the other deformers (round corners, twist, etc)? Thank you!

I don’t know of any way to access the post-deformer path shape.

If you don’t know it, it doesn’t exist!

I can’t think of any other way to get the wiggle paths operation working in tandem with the Ouroboros plugin from Sander van Dijk.

Somehow baking the wiggle paths operation to keyframes would work, but again not an option as far as I’m aware. I’m stumped.

Two separate shape layers with identical paths wiggling together. Can it be done?

It appears that if you apply a wiggle deformer with the same settings to the linked path, and set the same, non-zero seed, you’ll get the same deformation. I’m not sure it works in all cases, but it seems to, based on the seeds I tried.

Oh dear sweet mercy. You’re right. Non-zero seed saves the day!

Thanks Dan. This is the 1,000th question you’ve answered for me, but the first I’ve asked directly. Appreciate it!
