delay or time randomize – shape layer repeater
I have a huge projection canvas, and I’ve filled it with a pattern where different shape layers fill different colors based on a a master expression for color and timing.
I’ve had to copy this shape layer nearly 1200 times to get the array I want for the 8K canvas.
The large amount of shape layers have really bogged AE down. This is a little strange because my RAM and CPU use look fairly normal (my cpu does spike a little).
I’ve recreated the pattern with the repeater function in shape layers, and I have normal performance. Unfortunately with this solution, I lose the randomization factor that I like so much with the separate shape layers.
Any ideas how to solve this?
