Creating an alpha out of a video
I’m not sure how else to say that, I just know there must be an easier way to do this. Let’s say I’ve been given some logo animations over a background, as well as a file that contains the same animation but with the logo animation all in white, and the background all in black.
I would like to get the color logo animation separated from the background by using the black and white video over it…I know there must be a simple way to do this, but for the life of me all I can figure out is to key out the black and then set the mode to “stencil alpha” but that’s not really very clean…if I set the mode to silhouette luma it will remove the black and change the logo animation to black instead of white. I guess I could just precompose that and then put that pre comp over the logo animation with background and set the mode of that layer to stencil alpha…anyone have any advice/methods you use to tackle this?
Thanks!
