Hey guys, this little problem has barely left me sleep:

I have this split-flap airport-like counter that goes A, B, C… 0, 1, 2, etc. that I need replicate and loop so actual words can be read on an arrivals/departures board. The counter is already set up and animated. Say you write “PAIN”, so four different layers of the precomped alphanumeric loop start playing back until each one stops on the corresponding character (they should all run at the same speed, so there are individual stop times for individual letters). Second big problem is that I want to make it look that it writes different words on those same “cards” so, for instance, if I change letter number four from “PAIN” (that’s the “N”) to “DUDE” it would have to reach the last character (which is “9”) and jump back to the loop start so it stops on the “E”.

Basically, what I still can’t do is to shift the timeRemap parameter so it loops instead of clipping. It’s ok if every letter is a different layer on the timeline, it just has to look as a seamless looping counter than stops on different characters.

PS I did thought about pre-rendering and looping the counter through project panel, but since there simple 3D rotation involved I’m willing to keep it as a precomp with transformations collapsed, so I can move the camera and see the depth.

Hopefully I made myself clear, thanks!
