  • Using Expression Sliders with a Time-remapped PreComp

I’m working on a character rig. I have a main comp with a master control layer that uses sliders to control a precomp.
I know from reading other posts that there’s a syncing issue that can occur when attempting this, and if your main comp and precomp are out of sync, then keyframes of your slider will not work. I understand that.

My problem is that my precomp has Time Remap ON to animate the character’s head turn. Inside that precomp are the mouth comps and eye layers which are keyframed to change perspective with the head. I’d like to control the eyes, blinks and mouth shapes at the top level in my main comp. But because they all lie within a time remapped layer, I think it is messing up the sync.

Is there a way around this? Perhaps with the valueAtTime expression? I know little about how to implement this.

I hope I’m phrasing this problem clearly.

People say my motion graphics are moving.
