Hi, I’ve just started experimenting with camera rigs and I’m sure this has been successfully attempted before but I haven’t been able to find a link to it yet.

Here’s the question. What kind of expression can I apply to a null that will calculate the rate of acceleration of the camera’s tracking (based on its current position and time and the camera position and time at the last known marker) and translate that into a corresponding, “wiggled-sway” motion to suggest a hand held camera being used? This I believe will make camera movement through 3D spaces more organic without having to bother animating the rate of the wiggle every time the camera is animated. Is this even practical or do the results look thoroughly unconvincing?
