• Adobe After Effects Expressions

  opposing directions

  i know this is such a beginner question about expressions, but i am. my brain can’t get it

  i want to have one slider that when i increase the number one layer goes right & the other goes left. So thus the slider number will tell me how many pixels are in-between the two layers.

  simple i know, please help

  If you have your slider on a layer named “control”, one expression would look like this:

  s = thisComp.layer(“control”).effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”)/2;
  value + [s,0]

  and the other would look like this:

  s = thisComp.layer(“control”).effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”)/2;
  value – [s,0]
