Export coorinates of 3D layer
Posted by Boris Rozhkovsky on August 15, 2014 at 8:19 amHello
A have 3D Square layer moving/ rotating over the scene.
How can i export it`s corners absolute coords on the screen, using script? This Layer is not a Shape or Mask, it is regular layer with photo.Walter Soyka replied 12 years ago 2 Members · 3 Replies -

August 15, 2014 at 11:38 amYou can actually do this pretty easily with expressions.
Create 4 2D nulls, one for each corner, and apply one of these expressions to each:
// top right corner
L = thisComp.layer("3D Layer");
L.toComp([0,0]);// top left corner
L = thisComp.layer("3D Layer");
L.toComp([L.width,0]);// bottom right corner
L = thisComp.layer("3D Layer");
L.toComp([L.width,L.height]);// bottom left corner
L = thisComp.layer("3D Layer");
L.toComp([0,L.height]);Select the position property of each of these nulls, and from the Animation menu, choose Keyframe Assistant > Convert expressions to keyframes.
Select one of the null’s position properties, then copy, then paste into Excel. You’ll get keyframe data for that point. Repeat for each of the nulls.
