    I want to drop a square onto a “floor” and have the square bounce and tumble as it would in the real world.

    So for example if you dropped it at an angle, when the corner hit the floor, it would bounce and rotate back and forth until it settled on the ground.

    Think of dropping a box on the floor, how would it bounce.

    I’d love to see math for real world gravity applied to the square.

    You’re talking about different parameters (position, 3d rotations) coördinating their animation based on a collision detection on the boundary of two layers…

    There is just no sane way to do this in motionscript with a true physics simulation. That’s just not what after effects is designed to do.

    It’s maybe do-able, I guess, but it would take ages to code, even if you understand how to do this in a different language, and system.

    You “used” to attempt physical simulations using C4D’s Physics Engine? Would you say it’s not worth attempting in C4D or 3DS Max?
