    hello I was wondering if anyone can answer this… I have a camera moving in my comp and i want to parent a layer to the cameras Z position only with an expression, i tried pickwhipping the position of the layer to the cameras Z postion but when i did it I was no longer allowed to move the layers X and Y positions

    any help is much appreciated

    This should do you:

    z=thisComp.layer("Camera 1").transform.position[2];
    [value[0],value[1],value[2]+z]

    Just change the layer’s name if your camera layer isn’t called “Camera 1”. You can now move your layer independently and still have the influence of the camera’s Z position.
