Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Expressions expression help

    okay, i’m new to expressions, and i’m trying to make a particle generator’s velocity react to audio keyframes. so far no problem, until i try to create an “if, then” statement. so far my expression is as such:

    x=thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”);
    thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”)*2;

    what i want to do is say, “when x is more than 50, multiply by Y”

    Y can either be a number instead of 2 or in addition to 2, i don’t care. i just want that extra punch of velocity when the value goes over 50.

    thanks in advance!
