  • Export Mocha planar surface as AE 3d layer

Posted by Vojtěch Palme on July 13, 2014 at 8:43 pm

So I have this walking beauty (see the gif) that’s suppost to have wings. The easyest way I see it making would be to somehow export the tracked Mocha planar surface as AE 3d layer and than just pickwhip wings to it. Is it possible?
If not, how would you do it? (Ideally using just AE and Mocha)

    Thanks a lot.

You could try this technique [link].

Thank you Michael. Interesting technique, but I don’t think it’s gonna help in this case. I realy need to get that Y axis rotation in there somehow. Because I want the wings to be bended in 3D (using raytraced renderer) and that corned pin only fakes the 3dimensional look.
I kinda managed to workaround it using corner pin on grid layer, soloing it and tracking with 3d camera tracker. Its not perfect yet but it’s getting there..
