    Dan,
I was looking up some stuff on motionscrpt.com the other day and I scrolled down and saw an interesting animation across from the text “Shameless Self-promotion.” You know, the thing with grid of solids with numbers on them. The pieces then move into order. Just curious about how you made this using expressions (I’m assuming you didn’t just keyframe them all to do that 🙂 ) Any info about how you did this would be appreciated.

Actually, that was a combintion of scripting and expressions. The script starts with an unscrambled puzzle and randomly scrambles it one move at a time, keeping track of the order of moves it used. It then creates a Position expressionsfor each piece, with the proper move sequence to unscramble the puzzle.

Clever idea dan — I had to do something similar recently but I only had to have a 5 second animation of the puzzle so I keyframed it. (I thought spending the time with the expressions would take longer than keyframing it once) Thanks for the info Dan.
