(had a thread going way down below. need to climb up the page a bit. RoRK thx for your help!)

still having trouble with this “layeraud.mm” expression/mm from the “CREATING AN AUDIO LED METER” tutorial.

I have everything built and working in AE6.5(PRO) but the CONTROLLER, I can’t figure out how to get it affected by MY audio (“bars_tones_v7.aif”) Converted To Keyframes to make Audio Amplitude layer. The “CREATING AN AUDIO LED METER” tutorial CONTROLLER layer looks like it just has a Wiggler/Position added to it? Or am I missing something? Don’t see an expression on it.

Any help with an expression that will effect POSITION (UP/DOWN) by an audio layer converted to keyframes?

    layers:

“Controller”-(a SOLID I need POSITION (UP/DOWN) to be effected by audio layer)
“Audio Amplitude”- (original audio is called “bars_tones_v7.aif” Converted To Keyframes)

Mine – using Motion Math (to create the audio keyframes and Expression scripts to animate and finetune the results

    THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, you are confusing Motion Math with expressions. Motion Math is no longer part of AE, so you won’t find layeraud.mm anywhere and be able to use it. Instead use the keyframe Assistant “Convert Audio to Keyframes”

Thanks Mylenium for chipping in. The controller was moved using some Wiggler (Expression) type values cos’ not everyone has the production bundle which comes with Motion Math – pre-version 6.5 . Expressions however comes with the Standard version.

What you should do is to pickwhip the position of the controller to the keyframes created by the Audio to Keyframes, keyframe assistant. Ensure that the old Expression script in the Expression box is replaced by the new script created by the pickwhip.

I keep getting a “After Effects warning: Object of type Layer found where a Number, Array, or Property is needed. Error occurred at line 0. Expression Disabled.”

    any (more) help!

    thanks for your time.
