  Offset loop timing on effect

  I am having CC Light Sweep sweep over layer to give it that shiny look. I would like it to go over it a few times through out the scene, but every time I write a loop expression it either does it once and then not again, or just repeats the effect back to back.

  Is there an expression to offset when the effect starts? Ie 20 frames between each loop?

  You can simply duplicate the effect and offset the keyframes in time. Alternatively, use Hold keyframes on the effect’s position prop to create the looping structure.

  loopOut(“cycle”) will play from your first keyframe to your last keyframe, over and over again.

  You can create that time in between the loop points by duplicating the last keyframe and moving it 20 frames out, so you have 3 keyframes instead of 2. (I think this was what Roland was getting at with the hold keyframes.)

  Hi Walter, I was actually alluding to solving the issue without Expressions and using only two ‘original’ keyframes (Hold on the second keyframe). Then copying/pasting these two keyframes later in time, as and when the effect was required to loop.
