September 30, 2005 at 4:05 amBoth are quite simply really. The 3D Stroke is a product from Trapcode called ‘3D Stroke’ so you’ll need to purchase that. Moving past it is just that. In 3D space animate your camera past the adidas word. So it’s not a zoom (focal length) it’s a camera move you’re looking for.

September 30, 2005 at 5:15 amI’d like to know for a fact the strokes were done with 3d stroke. I have 3d stroke and getting it to work like that could be difficult since the only way to get it to bend is around an axis… I’m sure its possibe, but I havent found an easy way to get it to what I want… plus at this point perhaps the stroke has been used so much that if you can tell its 3d stroke… well, you shouldn’t do it..

Extremely true.
Well, it may NOT be 3D stroke, but if it looks identical to it, why not use it? As far as not getting it to bend, just break it up into layers that are tilted on different axis. They already broke it up into layers anyways because it’s going in and out of the people layers.
BUT! this is assuming they did this all in AE.
For example if it was done in C4D, you wouldn’t have to break anything into layers, you just import the adidas signature looking lines from Illustrator, extend and bend the edges to come away from the logo and wrap around a bunch of planes that you mapped the sihlouettes on.
Then for the stroke, just use a SweepNurbs object to make a tiny disc gow over that path you created.
This way it will do any axis you want being true 3D and go in and out of the ppl layers without breaking them up, once again because it would be in true 3D.
