I just shot my scifi short with anamorphic glass in 5k. When I bring it in premiere it desqueezes automatically. I’m not sure what the correct process is to do vfx work on it in AE. When I drop it in a comp it’s still squeezed.

I have changed the comp pixel ratio to square and that seems to desqueeze it but then the pixel size ends up being like 6500 by 2700. That seems like it’s too much. Anyone know the correct way to do it? First time working with anamorphic.

Also one more question. When I export for coloring, what would be the best export for preserving both resolution and color, quicktime animation? Will that export 5k? Thanks guys!

DPX sequence. Also you’ll want to consult the colorist on what RED settings he/she wants before you do anything with the footage.
